Health Benefits Of Ginger Essential Oil
This perennial herb’s juice and essential oil has been used in beauty treatments for centuries. Ginger boasts antiseptic, lymph-cleansing, anti-inflammatory, antioxidant and circulatory properties.
Ginger Essential Oil Uses: External
Ginger essential oil benefits hair and skin among others. Ginger juice or essential oil can be used in hair preparations to stimulate growth and can help detoxify the skin. it can clear sores and spots, whether applied (sparingly) neat to the skin, in an Oil or facial steam. lt can also help relieve colds, muscle pains, arthritis, varicose veins and digestive upsets. Some studies show that, used topically, ginger oil may inhibit skin cancer Note: ginger oil can irritate the skin.
Ginger Medicinal Values And Benefits: Internal
Ginger relaxes the muscles surrounding the blood vessels, facilitating the flow of blood throughout the body. It’s an effective cleaning agent for the bowels, kidneys and skin. Do not ingest the essential oil.
Detoxifying body scrub with ginger, orange and soya bean oil:
ingredients: ginger and sweet orange essential oils, soya bean oil, sea salts mixed with honey
8 drops ginger essential oil
30 drops sweet orange essential oil
240g (1 cup) Celtic sea salts (medium grain)
125ml (1/2 cup) unreﬁned soya bean oil
20ml (1 tbs) honey
In a big bowl, add the essential oils to the salts and mix well. Pour in the soya bean oil and honey and mix thoroughly. To store the scrub, pour into an airtight, sealed container. Jars with big mouths work well. Keep a big spoon in the jar for when you want to use it.
To use: In the shower. massage two to three tablespoons of the mix into congested areas of the body, especially around the buttocks and thighs.
The scrub will keep for up to three months.
