The nine-foot mat is equipped with back and through-stroke alignment guides to ensure perfect acceleration and distance control while maintaining a square face to the target.

The back and through-stroke alignment guides ensure perfect acceleration and distance control while maintaining a square face to the target.
1) ALIGNMENT: For accurate alignment, square the putter blade parallel with the squaring lines at each putt length.
2) BACK-STROKE: the backstroke guides indicate the proper stroke length and prepare your stroke for an accelerated follow-through.
3) THROUGH-STROKE: The acceleration lines guide the motion for proper through-stroke and acceleration on the putting stroke.

My husband plays golf to a seven handicap and has had experience with other putting devices of this type and rated the quality of materials and construction of the Accelerator Pro as good.
He thought that the white line markings down the center were very helpful in tracking putts. Most importantly, because golf is a repetitive motion sport, this mat is a real aid to developing a putting stroke that becomes automatic.

This putting mat is of good quality compared to similar products (I’ve putted on a few). The mat itself is thicker than most mats of its type and the plastic return portion is a little thicker than most – although it’s still relatively thin.
The ball rolls with a normal speed based on my experience with real putting greens. I used some books to help flatten the mat out initially, and I was putting in a few minutes.
The distance guides work as intended. I need help with consistently putting distance. The markings can also be used to pace the distance on the mat without making the ball in the hole, say if you want to practice getting the ball to roll 4 ft and no more.
The ball return feed can be inconsistent. Sometimes a ball will not roll through and it sets in the cup. Typically the next ball will cause both to return. This is really a minor thing,

I’ve got a single-digit handicap and I use this mat a lot. This is great to put on a hard floor to give it a fast putting speed. IF you put it on a carpet, the speed slows down. Perfect.

The SKLZ Accelerator Pro is a great putting mat. It’s a high-quality mat with a good ball return. The mat is a good length and is sturdy. Its automatic ball return really works, and you can practice with just one ball.
The mat has a smooth surface that doesn’t create too much friction as the ball rolls. The guide markings are useful because they help you to focus not only on distance but also on speed. It’s a great way to keep your short game up during the winter months.

As soon as I started putting with this I was able to see that I was inadvertently pulling my putts to the left. The lines on the mat greatly helped with my alignment. I use this to practice before heading out to the course. It has helped me to stay focused on a straight follow-through on my putting stroke.

If you’re looking to have a putter in your office or something you use occasionally to pass the time – then this is your product and you don’t have to spend any more money than you have to – this product will do the job.
If you’re looking for higher quality and more durable products – keep shopping. It’s good for occasional use by the average guy – but not sure if this product would make a good gift for “executive types” because the quality is just average – even though you’re paying a little more than average.
If it were a little cheaper – I’d give it a 5 star – because you get what you pay for – in this case – the quality was a little cheaper than what I was expecting considering how much I paid.

I really like the mat. It no doubt will help you get a smoother and more consistent putting stroke.
Also, as other reviewers have mentioned, I believe this mat will train you to really over-hit the ball, so once you get out on the course and miss a putt, don’t be surprised if you miss by going 5+ feet past the hole. I can get over that – I can’t get over the awful ball return. Seriously, the “ball return” (at least mine) really is that bad.

Can I use a regular golf ball, like a Titleist?
That’s the idea. If you use your regular ball and mark them with a sharpie – use one of those plastic sleeve ball marker devices to allow a straight line to be drawn across the ball – you can tell very clearly whether your putts are “rolling true”.
Is storage easy? Can the mat be rolled-up without damaging the putting surface? Can the return gutter be detached for storage?
Yes, it can be rolled up for easy storage and the ball return comes apart like the old hot wheels tracks. This thing works great.
Is it possible to use this mat outdoors? What kind of surface is necessary?
If the surface is flat and dry (concrete or asphalt) yes u can use it outdoors however as a one-time thing.- it wouldn’t last outdoors if it rained or got damp – the unit is plastic and the turf/run is a good enough turf quality to last outdoors for use – as long you bring it indoors at the end of its use.
